When I was 10 years old I was given a tape recorder and I played with it for hours, fascinated by hearing my own voice "broadcast" back to me! And when I discovered the emotional power and influence of music, I began collecting. In college I studied electronics, started a sound reinforcement business, and soon had my first taste of what it was like to be a live DJ. I loved it!
I landed a job at world-renowned Ardent Recording Studios in Memphis Tennessee, and had the privilege of meeting and working with many musical celebrities and recording engineers. Later I studied broadcast technology in New York City, and began a 17 year career with the New York Times Company Broadcast Group.
A couple years after I left the Times, I began doing DJ work again, and established Ph.Dj Wedding Event Service. Ph.Dj is my sole proprietorship, based right here in Asheville. I am your personal DJ from the initial consultation all the way through the last minute of your reception. I bring over 20 years combined experience in technology, broadcasting, and audio/video production. I look forward to meeting you and becoming part of your story too.
